What AI We Use

Our analysis and recommendation features are powered by Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic. Claude analyses the photograph you provide, reads the contextual information you share, and produces a personalised report covering hair, skin, structure, grooming, and aesthetic opportunity.

Our Style Advisor feature — which can visualise potential appearance changes — also uses image generation models to produce before-and-after style previews.

What the AI Does

• Analyses a photograph to identify visual signals relating to hair condition, skin condition, facial structure, and grooming
• Generates a written personalised plan based on what it observes
• Matches those observations to products from the iammax catalogue
• Provides styling previews showing potential appearance changes
• Supports our admin team in auto-populating product information during catalogue management

What the AI Cannot Do

The AI analysis is a visual recommendation tool. It is not a medical device, clinical assessment, or diagnostic system. Specifically, the AI:

• Cannot diagnose any skin condition, hair disorder, or medical condition
• Does not name or recommend prescription-only medicines. Where it sees something clinics commonly treat, it suggests a consultation and shows nearby partner clinics. The practitioner decides at consultation what, if anything, is suitable
• Cannot replace the advice of a qualified dermatologist, trichologist, or aesthetic practitioner
• May not detect conditions that require clinical examination
• Produces results that reflect probabilistic analysis and may not be accurate in all cases

If you have concerns about your skin or hair health, please consult a qualified medical professional. Our analysis is a starting point for improvement, not a clinical verdict.

Your Photograph — How It Is Handled

• The analysis is for adults aged 18 and over. You confirm this, and that the photos are of you, before each analysis. The AI estimates your age from the photos alone. If you tell us your real age afterwards, it is only used to show you the difference
• Partner clinics shown alongside your results pay iammax a monthly listing fee
• Face detection and measurements (landmarks, symmetry index, proportions and photo-quality checks) run in your browser. The live camera feed is never recorded or uploaded
• When you run an analysis, your photos are resized in your browser and sent securely to Anthropic’s API to generate the result. They are processed under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, which do not allow them to be used to train models
• We don’t keep your photos after the analysis unless you save your progress and tick the box to store your front photo. Stored photos are kept in a private bucket, shown only to you, and deleted when you delete that analysis or your account
• Wellness check-in answers are sent only to generate that analysis and are never saved
• For Style Advisor previews, your photo is also sent to Replicate, which runs the image-editing model
• We do not use your photographs to train AI models

You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting saved analyses from your progress page or emailing privacy@iammax.co.uk.

AI-Generated Style Previews

The Style Advisor produces computer-generated preview images of style choices, such as a haircut, hair colour or facial hair. Previews are illustrations, not a promise of how you will look. We deliberately do not generate previews of the results of products or treatments (for example hair regrowth or clearer skin), because those results vary from person to person.

Human Oversight

Product curation and AI-drafted product descriptions are reviewed by our team before they are published. Your analysis is generated automatically and is not reviewed by a person before you see it, which is why it is guidance rather than advice. The AI never makes decisions about your health, finances or legal rights.
